The Zoning of Keliber’s Mining Area and Concentrator Area Has Been Approved
The zoning for Keliber´s Syväjärvi, Rapasaari and Outovesi mining areas and the Päiväneva concentrator area have been approved by the Kokkola City Council and the Municipal Councils of Kaustinen and Kronoby, regarding regions concerning them. In addition, the Municipal Councils of Kaustinen and Kronoby approved the detailed plan for the concentrator area.
The Kokkola City Council meeting was held on 9 May 2022, the Kaustinen Council on 5 May 2022, and Kronoby Council on 11 April 2022. Decisions are not legally valid.
Keliber's construction work is scheduled to start this summer and production in 2024. The company has environmental and mining permits for the Syväjärvi mining area, which will be the first to be commissioned and where preparatory construction work has been started.
