Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga appoints Laura Karklina-Cimdina as new director of sales
Riga, 18 July 2023 – Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga has announced the appointment of Laura Karklina-Cimdina as Director of Sales
Laura has had a diverse career path. She began working with the Red Cross before joining Air Baltic in the travel trade industry in 2001. She briefly pursued a career as a high school teacher but then shifted to sales, becoming a specialist for Baltic Hospitality Group in 2006.
In 2008, Laura joined Tal Aviation and led the sales efforts for four airlines. In 2011, she became the Senior Account Manager for Globe AIR, selling Czech air in Latvia, and later took on the role of Senior Account Manager for the Baltic Miles reward and loyalty department.
From 2015 to 2022, Laura served as the Travel Sector Director for Aeroflot in the Baltic States.
Laura holds a master's degree in psychology, pedagogy, and preschool training, in addition to being a certified English teacher.
With her extensive knowledge of the Baltic market and her innovative thinking for market insights and leadership, in her new role with Grand Hotel Kempinsi Riga, Laura
will oversee the sales and brand communications, specifically focusing on developing strategies to drive the rooms and events revenue as well as growing the market share.

As a Latvian national, Laura is fluent in English and Russian, as well as her mother tongue.
