On the first day the conference will examine the need for sustainable agricultural intensification as well as whether it can be achieved in practice. It will also look at global commodity prices, harvest round up and planning forecast for 2013. On the second day CropWorld Global will debate three streams, political, financial and technical, all drivers of sustainable agricultural intensification.

CropWorld Director Clare King said the event, which is the third annual CropWorld Global conference, was promising to be the most successful yet.

“Sustainable crop production to meet the needs of a growing population is a global issue, and it is appropriate that we have delegates and speakers from companies from around the world attending this event.

“We have chosen the theme of ‘sustainable intensification’ with a view to creating a debate about the role that science and technology can play in meeting the rising demand for food in the world. We will also be looking at the political and economic challenges facing agricultural production. The event is about knowledge exchange, and the opportunity to network and debate with colleagues from around the world,” she said.
