Farmers will be amongst the customers across a range of industry sectors to benefit from an extension of the distribution agreement between Mitas Tyres, the UK’s leading manufacturer of off-road tyres, and Derbyshire-based Ascott Transport Limited (ATL). The contract will enable next-day delivery on the company’s extensive range for the agricultural, industrial and motorcycle sectors.

King’s Lynn-based Mitas Tyres UK Ltd says that Ascott Transport Limited (ATL), which manages the storage and distribution of Mitas tyres throughout the UK, will hold extensive stocks, enabling it to provide an even better service to Mitas distributors and customers throughout the UK.

Mitas, which manufactures tyres marketed under the Mitas, Continental and Cultor brands, has grown its business substantially during the last two years and is experiencing strong demand across all market sectors as customers come to recognise and appreciate the high quality, good value and increasing choice which these products offer. The arrangement with ATL will enable Mitas to further improve its already highly-efficient customer service and enable end-users to benefit from an improved distribution service, with orders placed before 16.30 being there the following day

Despite the generally tough economic conditions facing UK companies and consumers, has been able to increase its turnover by more than 50%. A vibrant, dynamic, service-driven company, Mitas says that the keys to its growing success in the agricultural are excellent products, innovative new tyres sizes and tread patterns, together with excellent customer-focused support.

Founded in 1959, ATL is a growing logistics provider which offers a one-stop-shop for distribution, warehouse or logistic requirements. Combining more than five decades of experience with cutting-edge technology, it constantly reviews its systems, procedures and processes to benefit its customers. A member of Palletline Plc, the UK’s leading pallet distribution specialist, ATL recently received the Palletline Small Delivery Depot of the Year Award for the achievements of its Carlisle Depot.

“We are delighted to be working with ATL for a further three-year term,” states Jon Ward, Managing Director of Mitas Tyres UK Ltd. “While Mitas is widely regarded as the market leader in off-road tyres, ATL are recognised as experts in their field, offering excellent service and, most importantly, having a very good understanding of the tyre sector and our specific requirements.

“Through ATL, we are now able to offer Mitas customers two delivery options. While our larger distributors who buy in bulk and hold their own stocks of Mitas tyres are able to have containerised shipments delivered directly from Mitas factories in the Czech Republic, other distributors have access to a next-day service through ATL. Either way, end-users benefit from excellent products, service and availability.”
