Anitox, the international corporation which offers pathogen elimination, mould control and milling efficiency programmes for the feed milling and primary meat, egg and fish production industries, has further enhanced its technical capabilities with the appointment of Dr Peter F. S. Street, as Director of Research & Development.

Having previously worked for a number of international corporations in the animal nutrition and feed safety sectors, Dr Street joined Anitox in June 2008 as Technical Director, a role which encompasses overall responsibility for technical, regulatory and laboratory services in Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA) and Asia. Dr Street’s extensive experience in the areas of microbiology, production, regulatory affairs and product development has since been invaluable in helping Anitox to develop its business in these regions, where the company is enjoying rapid, sustained growth.

Whilst continuing to be based at Anitox’s EMEA-Region office at Earls Barton in Northamptonshire, England, Dr Street will now focus on bringing the company’s pipeline of new products which are currently in development through to commercial launch. In this role he will work closely with his teams, including Dr Kurt Richardson, Chief Science Officer, and Dr Don Wilson, Anitox’s Global Technical Director, both of whom are based in the USA.

Commenting on his appointment, Dr Street, stated:

““This is a very exciting time, both for myself and for Anitox, which has more than 30 years experience in antimicrobial and mould-control technology in finished livestock feeds and the raw materials used to produce them. Through its extensive investment in Research and Development Anitox has brought together a highly-experienced team of professionals and is at the forefront of the industry in terms of developing and delivering new products which provide safe feed to protect the health of livestock and consumers throughout the world.

“I am delighted to be taking on this important role at a time when we are at a very significant point in the company’s development and have a strong pipeline of new products Whilst some are in the early stages of discovery, others are approaching commercial launch and will take us into new areas of the market, helping livestock producers and feed manufacturers to meet the future demands and challenges which are being imposed on them by ever-more-stringent regulation and consumer requirements.”

Founded in 1977 by research chemist Dr. Bob Bland, Anitox is based in Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA and has key regional offices/operational centres in North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, together with Asia Pacific. Anitox is a pioneer in the field of antimicrobial products, developing and manufacturing a range of antimicrobial preservatives for animal feeds, feed ingredients and foodstuffs for human consumption. In 2007, a majority shareholding in Anitox was purchased by The Riverside Company, a leading private equity investor. Since then Anitox has invested significantly in the business.
