William Evans has achieved strong sales of sporting guns manufactured by Mauser and Blaser, two of Europe’s leading brands, since being appointed as a main stockist by UK importer Open Season Ltd in May. William Evans’ shops in St James, London and at Bisley in Surrey now stock a wide range of Mauser and Blaser products, including the popular Mauser M 03 and Blaser R93/R8 rifles, together with Blaser F3 game and competition shotguns.

“We are tremendously enthusiastic about the Mauser and Blaser ranges and firmly believe that they are the best available from the German sporting arms industry,” explains Robin Hawes of William Evans, England’s oldest-established gunmaker and a company with a long tradition of aligning itself with other premium manufacturers/products.

“Mauser has remained at the forefront of hunting technology since the company began in 1860 and today’s M 03 rifle is in a league of its own, combining proven Mauser quality with functional innovation. Blaser is the largest producer of rifles in Europe and its current range incorporates the latest design and technology. The R93 and R8 models, for example, feature a straight-pull bolt that locks without rotational movement in the barrel, which minimises body movement and makes reloading easier and faster, a significant advantage when shooting driven or dangerous game.

“The Mauser M 03 has been designed for the passionate hunting enthusiast, is very attractively designed and manufactured to withstand a lifetime of hard use. It combines the highest-quality materials, exceptional workmanship and a fail-safe rifle system, with modern qualities such as modular construction, versatility and perfection in design.

“Though not cheap, the M 03 represents excellent value for the quality which it offers and will ensure that the Mauser name continues to be at the forefront of sporting rifle design and manufacture. There are 10 different models in the Mauser M 03 line and countless variations, each of which can be complemented with practical accessories and upgraded with precious wood or selected engravings, so our customers can be assured of owning a rifle which precisely meets their sporting requirements.

“When Blaser developed the F3 it reaffirmed its position as the leader in sporting shotgun technology and now produces a wide range to suit every requirement, whether for game shooting or at the highest level of international competition. Though it incorporates ground-breaking features, the F3 is an elegant shotgun which has been very carefully thought through, both technically and ergonomically. The inline striker and firing pin mechanism provides unique crisp and clean trigger pulls, while the Inertia Block System prevents the second shot being discharged unintentionally. A key feature of the F3 is its unique balancing system, which allows the shotgun’s handling characteristics to be tailored to the owner’s preference.”

Robin Hawes adds:

“Mauser and Blaser sporting guns remain relatively exclusive but offer a number of distinct advantages over cheaper products in terms of the workmanship and features they offer. Discerning sportsmen appreciate the quality and excellent value for money offered by the various models from these two highly-respected manufacturers and that is being reflected in increasing sales at both of our shops.”
