The Arbitration Institute of the Finland Chamber of Commerce (FAI) is pleased to invite you to Helsinki International Arbitration Day 2014 to be held on Thursday, 5 June 2014. The international event brings arbitration top experts to Finland, a country well on its way towards becoming internationally recognized for its efficiency and arbitration-friendliness.

The theme of the event is “Demystifying the Role of the Arbitrator”. What are the characteristics of a good arbitrator from the party and counsel perspectives? How is cost-efficiency ensured in the conduct of the arbitration? How has arbitration developed in the Nordic countries over the last decades converging towards an internationally recognized good practice? What are the practical experiences with the new FAI Rules and their emphasis on promoting an efficient and cost-effective conduct of arbitrations?

The event’s speakers and panelists represent a variety of backgrounds from leading arbitration practitioners to in-house counsel and one justice of the Finnish Supreme Court. Among others, speakers include Bo G.H. Nilsson (Sweden), Louise Barrington (Hong Kong, Canada and France), Simon Greenberg (France) and Ari Kantor (Finland).

Media representatives are welcome to take part in the event free of charge.

We kindly ask you to register by Wednesday, 4 June 2014 by sending an e-mail to Communications Manager Sanna Kuivalainen, viestinta@chamber.fi or by telephone +358 50 535 1988.
