LOS ANGELES, Calif., Sept. 6, 2012 – Los Angeles-based contemporary clothing manufacturer Scrapbook announced a partnership with Catt Sadler’s Women Like Us Foundation (WLUF) recently to a packed house at 1OAK at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The brand’s newly minted commitment to the nonprofit is threefold – funding through apparel sales, creation of a mentorship program and cross-promotion to help generate awareness for inspiring and supporting young women.

E! News host and WLUF Hollywood creator Catt Sadler kicked off the celebration with a Nebuchadnezzar (15L bottle) of champagne generously donated by Armand de Brignac (also known as “Ace of Spades”). The party was attended by notable Hollywood personalities, media and fashion industry insiders who were treated to performances by Grammy-nominated songstress Skylar Grey and British singer-songwriter sensation Jay Sean.

“As the international spokesperson for WLUF and President of the Hollywood program, I believe our new partnership with Scrapbook is an important next step in supporting our efforts to reach more girls than ever before,” said Sadler.  “We are looking forward to the relationship as they join us in these crucial endeavors.”

WLUF CEO Linda Rendleman and new WLUF President Deb Myers were also present for the launch of the new partnership. Rendleman commented, “We’re thrilled to have Scrapbook get behind our mission of supporting and mentoring teen girls. This is a company that understands the importance of giving back, not only through monetary contributions, but also through hands-on involvement.”

Scrapbook will donate a portion of every garment sold to WLUF this year. Additionally, Scrapbook will work with WLUF to create the “Fashion Forward Mentoring Program by Scrapbook” to give teen girls the opportunity to learn about the fashion business through twice yearly retreats with Scrapbook management, partners and staff. Participants will learn about design, patternmaking, production, marketing, sales and various other aspects of the apparel manufacturing business.

“We selected the Women Like Us Foundation based on its mission of engaging, encouraging and empowering women and girls to make a difference,” said Scrapbook CEO Charles Shaker. “Through funding, mentoring and co-branding, we believe that we can help WLUF create positive experiences and opportunities for young women throughout Los Angeles and beyond.”

Scrapbook also launched its new Spring 2013 collection at the WWDMAGIC tradeshow to rave reviews from buyers and media. With a new designer, new marketing initiative and new website www.scrapbookclothing.com, the brand is looking forward to making a splash with its latest collection featuring tops, dresses, skirts and jackets.
