Industrial Parks in Mexico Receive Certification
NAPS plans to open office inside Castro del Rio Industrial Park in Irapuato, Guanajuato to offer administrative and compliance support services for companies interested in manufacturing in Mexico’s interior
On Thursday, June 14th, 2012, 20 industrial parks earned a certification for their outstanding service and sustainability while complying to the “Mexican Standard”. These 20 Industrial parks were the first to receive this honor since it was created in 1999.
El Dorado, Cachanillas, Bajio, Techno-Industrial Park Castro del Rio, Milenio Industrial Park, Guadalajara Technology Park, Valle de Calafia Industrial Park, Finsa Apodaca Industrial Park are some of the Industrial Parks that received certification.
"This certification encompasses a number of factors, including establishing the legal ownership of the land; the quality of the infrastructure, both basic and the most up-to-date telecommunications; ensuring a capacity for sustainable growth that includes a water recycling component and efficiency in the use of energy. We can be very good at promoting investment, but if when it comes, investors cannot find the right industrial space to set up a plant, they are not going to stay. It is a competitive differentiator for the investment to stay in Mexico," said Jaime Roberts, president of the Mexican Association of Industrial Parks (AMPIP).
In AMPIP there are 200 industrial parks, 20 were certified and 40 are currently in the process of being certified, he said.
AMPIP was founded in 1986 to better represent industrial real estate developers in Mexico. AMPIP strives to promote industrial parks, attract foreign investment and those companies interested in manufacturing in Mexico.
During the quarterly meeting of this organization, Bruno Ferrari, Secretary of Economy, said that this certification helps strengthen the Mexico manufacturing sector.
North American Production Sharing (NAPS) will begin offering administrative and compliance support services starting in July, from its new office located in Irapuato’s Industrial Castro del Rio, in the State of Guanajuato. With the addition of the Irapuato office, NAPS will be in a strategic position to provide administrative and compliance support services in the interior of Mexico.
A significant influx of companies in the automotive sector from Japan, Germany, the U.S. and other countries are expected to locate operations in this area. NAPS has a long track record of excellence in support services and compliance, with operations along the U.S. – Mexico border since 1991.
