NAPS Joins Employees in Assisting “Casa Hogar” Shelter for Children

An employee led initiative launched in 2010 is helping homeless children at “Casa Hogar”, a shelter in Tijuana. NAPS sponsored a Posada on Saturday, December 18, where children will receive gifts, groceries and supplies.

It began as an effort by a few employees, initiated by Ms. Elizabeth Teutle at NAPS, to help out children who have no one else to turn to. She asked some of her co-workers to help her with this effort. Children with no place to live are being helped by a “Casa Hogar”, a shelter in Tijuana with few resources that provides basic needs for children.

Thanks to this employee initiative, NAPS is now giving back to the Tijuana community by helping the shelter on a monthly basis by purchasing groceries, food supplies and clothing. NAPS employees visit often and do arts and crafts with the children, lead them in singing and games, and provide them with some support in their difficult journey.

Recently, NAPS organized a Posada to bring some Christmas cheer to the children at Casa Hogar. The posada was on Saturday, December 18, 2010.
