Industriförvaltnings AB Kinnevik ("Kinnevik") acquires all the shares in Transcom WorldWide S.A. ("Transcom") By acquiring 37% from NetCom's subsidiary Société Européenne de Communication S.A. and 12% from Great Universal Inc., Transcom becomes a wholly owned subsidiary to Kinnevik. "Kinnevik now becomes the holder of 100% of the shares and a future tax-free dividend to the shareholders is possible if the Annual General Meeting resolves in favour of this" says the CEO of Kinnevik and Transcom, Vigo Carlund. During 2000, Transcom opened five new callcenters and employed another 1,857 people. "We are very satisfied with Transcom's growth rate and result and we see the potential of continuing our fast expansion during 2001" Vigo Carlund says. Already during the month of January two more callcenters are going to be opened; in Leon (Spain) and Casablanca (Morocco). Transcom WorldWide is present in Luxembourg, Sweden, France, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Morocco, and Estonia. Transcom is expanding fast throughout Europe. With a total of 22 call centers, all under expansion, Transcom WorldWide employs approximately 5,500 employees.
