New Welsh National Development Centre substitutes keys for KitLock locker locks

Locker keys in the changing rooms at the newly-opened Welsh National Football Development Centre have been substituted by KitLock locker locks. The new facility, called ‘Dragon Park’, is situated at the Newport International Sports Village and will be a base for the Welsh Football Trust. The keyless locks have been installed so that players do not have to worry about looking after keys when they are training on the pitches.

“As well as accommodating player training, we also run UEFA-accredited football coaching courses and the lockers will be available for the candidates to use while they attend these courses,” explained operations manager Kevin Moon. “A few weeks ago, we had our first official event and the feedback on the locker locks was positive. The players were happy and found them easy to use.”

KitLock 1000 is a durable electronic lock designed specifically for securing lockers. Fitted in place of a standard cam lock, it provides simple keypad access without the hassle of keys, coins or tokens. Instead, access is gained by entering a four-digit code on the keypad. Players simply enter a user code, then ‘lock and go’. A red LED light will flash to show the locker is in use and a blue light indicates a vacant locker.

The locker locks at Dragon Park were specified by Cardiff-based Willis Systems (UK) Ltd, who specialise in bespoke washroom products for new and refurbishment projects.

KitLock is a convenient and stylish alternative to traditional key cam locks that uses a four-digit code rather than a key to secure lockers and cabinets. Key management can be a major concern for facilities, estates or maintenance managers looking after lockers or cabinets in schools, universities, hospitals, data centres, gyms and leisure centres, due to the high numbers that get lost or stolen. KitLocks are stylish, very easy to fit and are sold with ‘everything you need in the box’ to fit them, including parts, instructions and templates.
