Winners to be recognised at November 29 New York City Gala

London, 15 November, 2012 – KiWi Power, the UK’s leading smart grid and energy demand management company, has been named a finalist in the Platts Global Energy Awards, an annual program recognising exemplary industry leadership. The 2012 finalists, selected from nearly 200 nominations from more than two dozen countries, were recently announced by programme host Platts, the leading global energy, petrochemicals and metals information provider.

“We congratulate all of the finalist companies and individuals, and we look forward to honoring their accomplishments when we unveil the 2012 Global Energy Award winners in November at our fourteenth annual awards dinner,” said Larry Neal, president of Platts.

Recognised for its long-term, systematic commitment to energy efficiency, KiWi Power’s demand-side management programme is helping organisations in the UK make significant energy savings, reduce their carbon footprint and generate additional revenue.

Commenting on the 2012 Award of Excellence for ‘Energy Efficiency’, Yoav Zingher, director and co-founder of KiWi Power said, “Interest in demand response from commercial and industrial organisations in the UK is growing fast. The energy debate appears to be shifting from one of generation and capacity towards demand reduction. We are delighted to receive this prestigious award in recognition of the hard work KiWi Power is doing to promote energy efficiency in the UK.”

“While the UK demand response market may be relatively immature compared to the US, we expect to see significant growth. Energy analysts are predicting a 32-35 percent annual rise in demand response participation in the UK over the next six years. Our own expanding portfolio of clients, which now covers a diverse range of industry sectors including airports, hospitals, mining and manufacturing sites, certainly reflects this growth potential.” continued Zingher.
