KlaraBo has won a land allocation competition arranged by Växjö Municipality for the Snickarglädjen 1 property in Vikaholm. The company’s entry encompasses approximately 10,500 square metres GFA, corresponding to about 120 rental apartments. The allocation period extends from 14 March 2022 to 13 March 2023.

Vikaholm is located in the southern district of the city of Växjö, in close proximity to the Växjö campus of Linnaeus University, preschools, schools, retail establishments and other amenities. Vikaholm is a sustainable residential area that will include approximately 1,000 housing units once complete.

The intention is to develop rental units in apartment buildings and possibly tenant-owned terraced houses, mainly constructed from wood. The facades in the proposal feature wood and glass, with balcony greenhouses and a plant wall in the interior courtyard. A number of innovative and sustainable solutions are also planned with the aim of obtaining environmental certification for the properties. The proposal was produced in collaboration with the architectural firm C.F. Møller Architects.

By securing this land allocation, KlaraBo now has the opportunity to establish a presence in a new city, where its future portfolio will be managed under Region East. After winning land allocations in Skellefteå and Växjö, KlaraBo’s project portfolio comprises just over 1,700 apartments, corresponding to slightly more than 130,000 square metres GFA.

“We look forward to initiating project planning for these sustainable housing units, which we believe will be a great match with the popular Vikaholm district. We are continuing our journey of growth and, for the second time in one year, are establishing a presence in a new city. We will also have the opportunity to collaborate with a municipality with ambitious goals when it comes to sustainable growth,” says Andreas Morfiadakis, CEO of KlaraBo.

KlaraBo’s local growth ambitions are aligned with the extensive urban development projects being carried out in Växjö Municipality, in which environmentally friendly and sustainable urban development is an important priority.
