Klimator strengthens its market-leading position in Denmark within smart decision-making for winter road maintenance
Klimator has signed a contract with an additional municipality in Denmark regarding smart winter maintenance, resulting in Klimator further strengthen its leading position in the Northern European market. The total order value for the first year of service is approx. 500 KSEK with a subsequent annual recurring revenue of approx. 200 KSEK. The delivery consists of Klimator's IoT Road Weather Stations, climatological services, and Klimator's SaaS Road Status Information for smart winter road maintenance.
The deal secures Klimator’s position as the leading provider of road condition forecasting for smart winter road maintenance in the northern European market. The contract consists partly of deliveries of Klimator's high-quality IoT Road Weather Stations and partly of the company's SaaS Road Status Information (RSI). The combination of the two technologies delivers a high-resolution visualization of the current situation, what actions are relevant going forward, and an advanced follow-up system of implemented actions.
“Our unique and long experience within the field is appreciated in the market, where we see great interest in our offer and the combination of IoT sensors with smart decision support for winter roads. Here, Denmark is at the forefront of the development, and we see that both new and established markets are moving in the same direction. The driving force is clear with increased efficiency, to contribute to a necessary climate transition and more efficient use of resources. With today's financial situation, the incentives are stronger than ever before, and it is extremely gratifying that new municipalities see this potential at the same time as existing municipalities continuously renew their agreements and extend with new sensors. We see this as a true recognition of Klimator’s level of innovation and ability to deliver high customer value", says Emil Danielsson, Head of Winter Maintenance at Klimator.
About Road Status Information
Road Status Information (RSI) is a Software-as-a-Service application for the winter maintenance industry which delivers all critical information needed to ensure safe winter roads. The data provided in RSI is created by using a combination of ruled-based algorithms, machine learning, and analysis of immense amounts of real-life road and environment data. RSI processes this data with advanced climate models to provide detailed forecasts for roads, bicycle- and footpaths. The high-resolution forecasts given in RSI are used by traffic authorities, winter road contractors and municipalities providing the best possible foundation for proactive and sustainable winter maintenance. Klimator's forecasts facilitate decisions, planning and follow-up of measures and contribute to using resources more efficiently and reducing the climate footprint.
About Klimator's IoT Road Weather Stations
Klimator’s road weather station provides real time information on how weather impacts local road conditions. This data will empower operators to make informed decisions on the appropriate actions necessary. The data is easily accessible from a browser-based platform or the RSI platform. The data comes in the form of an API so can also be fed into other weather monitoring and forecasting systems if necessary.
