KMT is launching a revolutionary concept for precision grinding – Nano Grinder. The new machine, which is only 1/5 the size of a traditional design, offers productivity improvements of up to 50 percent. With this new, totally unique technology, KMT is taking a leap forward in terms of precision, flexibility and reliability.

The new machine, which was developed by Lidköping Machine Tools in close cooperation with UVA, uses a unique, highly effective type of grinding motion and will serve as a technical platform for future machine constructions. Thanks to its compact design, productivity can be raised by up to 50 percent compared with a traditional machine, at the same time that Nano Grinder’s size has been reduced by approximately 80 percent. Nano Grinder will be introduced at the EMO fair in Hannover, Germany on September 14 and will be marketed by KMT’s subsidiaries Lidköping and UVA. “The new design will help first and foremost to raise our customers’ productivity, although it will also boost precision in the manufacture of their end products, not to mention improve their work environments,” said Johan Westberg, President of Lidköping Machine Tools. “Moreover, service will be fully integrated into our offering to ensure the highest possible operating reliability.” “The new internal grinding machine we are now launching complements our existing product range very well and further strengthens our offering,” said Johan Söderström, President of UVA. “At the same time we will expand our market potential by reaching new applications.” “We are convinced that the technological advance and high performance relative to price that Nano Grinder offers will bolster our world-leading position in precision grinding, which will benefit KMT as a whole moving forward,” said Lars Bergström, President and CEO of KMT. www.kmt.se, www.lidkoping.com, www.uva.com For further information, please contact: Lars Bergström, CEO, Karolin Machine Tool AB Tel: +46 8 594 211 50 or via e-mail: lars.bergstrom@kmt.se Johan Westberg, President, Lidköping Machine Tools AB Tel: +46 510 880 00 or via e-mail: johan.westberg@lidkoping.com
