Nooralotta Neziri, Viivi Lehikoinen, Henry Manni, Mustafe Muuse, Emil Soravuo, Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis, and OVO Team and OVO Junior Team receive Lumo sponsorship in 2023

The Lumo sponsorship and grant programme has supported top Finnish athletes, as well as individual and team sports for young people, since 2012. The individual sponsored athletes selected for 2023 are Viivi Lehikoinen, hurdles; Henry Manni, wheelchair racing; Mustafe Muuse, long-distance running; Nooralotta Neziri, hurdles; and Emil Soravuo, artistic gymnastics. In addition, we are also sponsoring ice dancing pair Juulia Turkkila and Matthias Versluis for the first time. The OVO Gymnastics Club, the OVO Team and the OVO Junior Team were selected to continue team cooperation.

“Sponsorship and grants are part of our sustainability programme. We want to support goal-oriented athletes in their careers. We have supported athletes on a long-term basis, some even since the beginning of the programme. At the same time, we want to identify new talents and select new athletes to be cooperation partners. I would like to warmly welcome the chosen athletes to Lumo sponsorship for 2023,” says CEO Jani Nieminen.

The Lumo programme sponsors top Finnish athletes, as well as individual and team sports for young people. Launched in 2012, the programme promotes wellbeing through physical activity by awarding grants to children and young people engaged in sport.

Lumo grants are awarded twice a year. The aim is to encourage the continued development of 12–20-year-old athletes who show commitment to training and a passion for success in their sporting careers. The grants are available to any promising young athletes who have already engaged in active sports as a member of a sports club for several years and who need financial support for their hobby. Our residents are given priority in the selection. To date, 535 grants have been awarded.
