Proposal for the composition of the Board of Directors of KONE Corporation

The Board of Directors' Nomination and Compensation Committee of KONE Corporation will propose to the Annual General Meeting of KONE Corporation, to be held February 24, 2014, that the number of board members is increased to be nine, with an additional deputy member.

The Nomination and Compensation Committee will propose that Ravi Kant is elected as a new Board member for KONE Corporation.

Antti Herlin (Chairman of the Board), Sirkka Hämäläinen-Lindfors (Vice Chairman), Shinichiro Akiba, Matti Alahuhta, Anne Brunila, Jussi  Herlin, Juhani Kaskeala, Sirpa Pietikäinen and Iiris Herlin (as a Deputy Member) would continue on the Board.

Ravi Kant, B.Tech. (Hons.) (IIT, Kharagpur, India) and M.Sc. (Aston University, Birmingham, UK), born 1944, is currently the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tata Motors Ltd. He has previously served in different positions in Tata Motors since 1999, and as Managing Director and CEO from 2005 to 2009 and after that as the Vice Chairman. Prior to that, he was Director, Consumer Electronics, Philips India; Director (Marketing), LML Ltd. and Vice President (Marketing), Titan Watches Ltd. He is currently also Chairman of the Board of Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, Tata Advance Materials Ltd and Tal Manufacturing Solutions. He is also member of the boards of Tata Industries Ltd, National Institute of Design (India), Enactus (USA) and WonderWork (USA). Previously he has been chairman and director of several Tata companies in India and abroad.
