Konecranes, a leading global manufacturer of lifting technology, announces its new technician training center at its recently relocated headquarters in Burlington, Ontario.

Konecranes made the decision in 2013 that due to escalating growth they would make a large capital investment for its new headquarters that would include an expanded internal training center with state-of-the-art equipment. The training center provides Konecranes technicians with the knowledge and experience to meet the needs of the company’s growing customer base.

The new training center accommodates 138 Konecranes technicians across 30 branches, spanning from Vancouver to Newfoundland. Classroom sessions are held two weeks per month and range in topic and complexity. Topics covered in class include basic electrical and mechanical subjects, variable frequency drives, and crane condition monitor units. Technicians are also trained on the inspection, repair and maintenance of Konecranes equipment. The lab area is equipped with mechanical simulators, a mock crane and electrical training simulators for studying various crane electrical systems, providing a hands-on learning experience for technicians.
