Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane for Italian multi-purpose terminal
Konecranes has won a repeat order from Terminal San Giorgio S.r.L. (TSG) for a Konecranes Gottwald Model 7 Mobile Harbor Crane. The order was received in the first quarter of 2018, and the crane will be commissioned in June 2018 in Genoa.
The mobile harbor crane will handle containers, general cargo and project cargo in the multi-purpose terminal. It will be prepared to use power from the port’s grid in the future for more eco-efficient operation. This will reduce the crane’s energy consumption and eliminate its exhaust emissions.
The diesel-electric crane will be TSG’s second Model 7 mobile harbor crane. The first one began operation in 2013. Maurizio Anselmo, Managing Director, TSG, explains: “Our existing Model 7 crane from Konecranes, with its high level of performance and reliability, has helped to enhance our handling capacity. Together, the two versatile cranes will help us to fully exploit the potential of our terminal, which is the premier multi-purpose terminal in the port of Genoa.”

The Model 7 two-rope crane in the G HMK 7608 variant provides a strong lifting curve with a maximum lifting capacity of 150 t, and an outreach of up to 54 m. For particularly efficient container handling, it will be equipped with a twin-lift spreader providing a lifting capacity of up to 60 t under spreader.
