Konecranes will host the first IndustryHack Hackathon event on February 6-8, 2015 in Hyvinkää, Finland. In the event 15 teams will during 48 hours develop and build new applications and services around the Industrial Internet in material handling. The event combines knowledge and enthusiasm from coders and designers, and the technical experts of Konecranes.

The main idea of the IndustryHack event is to show the possibilities and get people excited around the Industrial Internet. Industrial Internet has become increasingly common in different businesses and not only does it enable increased safety and productivity, the potential for new business models and solutions is immense.

“Konecranes’ main target of the Hackathon is to get new “out-of-the-box” ideas for Industrial Internet in material handling,” says Juha Pankakoski, Chief Digital Officer of Konecranes. “We also think it is a great way to network and support start-ups and small companies that are used to coming up with good solutions fast.”

At the end of the event on Sunday afternoon, the results will be presented to a jury and the best innovation will be awarded.
