Konecranes starts new statutory negotiations within Service in Finland
Due to the continuing weak demand for maintenance services in the Finnish
market, Konecranes begins new statutory negotiations concerning possible
temporary and permanent layoffs within Konecranes Service Corporation in
Finland. It is estimated that the permanent personnel reductions will affect
approximately 15 employees.

The new statutory negotiations affect all Konecranes Service Corporation
personnel in Finland. The agenda for the negotiations includes the possibility
of continuing the temporary layoffs and of making permanent layoffs of
personnel.

Konecranes Service Corporation's previous statutory negotiations ended on June
5, 2009. The negotiations resulted in ten persons being permanently laid off
and in temporarily layoffs according to the market situation and work load.

The aim of these measures is to adjust the company's cost structure and
capacity so that they correspond to the current market situation, and to secure
future competitiveness.

Konecranes Service Corporation in Finland, offering service solutions for
cranes, port equipment and machine tools, employs about 620 people.

Konecranes has already adjusted its capacity through various arrangements, for
example by reducing the use of hired personnel and temporary employment. The
company has also shifted subcontracting back to in-house production. Konecranes
has previously communicated an estimated reduction of approximately 1,600
employees on Group level in 2009.
