Konecranes has won an order to deliver its innovative S-series overhead cranes to Swiss häuselmann metall GmbH, a new customer. The order was booked in February 2020 and the cranes will be delivered by February 2021.

The order for häuselmann, the largest independent metal trader in Switzerland, consists of five 1.6-ton cranes and two 2.5-ton cranes, which will be used to load and unload incoming and outgoing material flow, as well as for cutting and storing materials.

The S-series includes Konecranes’ new synthetic rope hoist, which makes it easy to carry loads and safe to handle as it is barb free, and it requires no lubrication, which can result in reduced cost of maintenance for the rope drum and sheaves. Its revolutionary trolley and reeving arrangement reduce wheels loads up to 45% compared to previous hoist generations.

“Even though Konecranes manufactures heavy equipment, their performance has been far from heavy. We are extremely pleased with Konecranes’ customer service, flexibility and response times: their offer was the first one we received, and it was the one we selected,” says Klaus Hueber, Production & Logistics Manager, häuselmann metall GmbH.

“We are really proud of our next-generation cranes and the additional value they bring to our customers, and it is a true pleasure to start the S-series journey with our new customer, häuselmann metall,” said Thomas Gerber from Konecranes Switzerland Sales.

“Based on the strong customer interest since the launch in September 2019, we look forward to sharing more news like this during 2020 and beyond,” added Marko Tulokas, Senior Vice President, Konecranes Industrial Cranes.

In September 2019, Konecranes introduced three new lifting products – the S-series, C-series and M-series – that reinforced its portfolio with multiple innovative features. These design updates make lifting more precise and powerful, and cut down on wear and tear significantly.
