Konftel launches mobile app for two conference phones

Our private mobile behavior is making increasing inroads into working life. Global conference phone manufacturer Konftel is therefore enabling more of its products to be controlled via the company's mobile app. 
"The mobile phone is a vital tool for everyone in business today," says Peter Renkel, CEO of Konftel. "We keep all our business contacts and colleagues' phone numbers on them, but we still want professional sound and all the functions of the conference phone at our fingertips during a remote meeting. Now we have a solution."

Just when the important remote meeting is due to start, we often have to stand there keying phone numbers and meeting codes into the conference phone. But that is history. Now everyone can simply use the contacts and calendar on their own smartphone, while still benefiting from the conference phone's superior sound and features. 

"We first launched the mobile app for our Konftel 300IPx conference phone and it was so well received that we're now looking to roll it out more widely," states Tommy Edlund, Director of Global Sales. "With a simple adapter, our free mobile app is now also available for our wireless Konftel 300Wx and Konftel 300Mx*, the only mobile conference phones in the world."

One Touch Conferencing
By entering meeting codes and phone numbers when the meeting is booked and the invitations go out, the meeting participants can then use the app to launch a conference call on a Konftel phone with just one tap – this is what Konftel calls One Touch Conferencing. The feature is already included with the Konftel 300IPx phone, but now the Konftel 300Mx* and Konftel 300Wx models will also be able to use the Konftel Unite app via an adapter. The adapter is simply inserted into the conference phone's SD card slot.

"We're launching the adapter at the IT Expo, a major telecoms event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA," says Tommy Edlund. "Our Konftel 300Wx phone has sold incredibly well in the USA, so I'm sure this new innovation will prove a big hit over there. We know that many people want to be able to control the conference phone via their smartphone and use their personal contacts and calendars with the conference phone."

FACTS: Konftel Unite adapter

• The Konftel Unite adapter is inserted into the Konftel phone's SD card slot.
• The adapter creates a wireless connection between the Konftel Unite app and the conference phone via BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy). The connection is only used to control the conference phone. There is no audio transfer via Bluetooth.
• The conference phone makes calls and communicates the same way as before, without affecting the user's mobile phone.
