Kongsberg Automotive (KA) and its Driveline business area have recently won three new contracts based on KA’s Gearshift Systems with a lifetime value at approximately EUR 7 million.

The contract terms vary from 5 to 6 years, and the first deliveries are going to start next year. The new business awards are to the current customer base in Europe, and production will be in Cluses, France and Mullsjö, Sweden.

One of the programs includes deliveries of manual shifters and shift cables to a medium-sized low cost car that is going to be launched in Morocco, North Africa, where one of KA’s customers has production facilities. This is the first time KA supplies to North Africa, and it underlines the company’s global capabilities.

Another program contains KA’s shift by wire technology on a premium Hybrid SUV car. This delivery represents an important step forward in the offering of a green portfolio meeting the future needs of hybrid- and electric vehicles. It proves that KA has the capabilities to develop innovative solutions in order to meet new vehicles demands.

“We are pleased to continue winning business with leading car makers. It re-affirms our competitiveness and capabilities and it endorses our strategic goal of being the preferred choice in the global market for gearshift systems”, says Claes Paulsson, Director of Marketing and Sales in Kongsberg Automotive’s Driveline division.
