KA WINS NEW CONTRACT ON SEAT SUPPORT SYSTEMS TO TRUCKS
Kongsberg Automotive (KA) has won a new contract to deliver Seat Support Systems to a German seat maker who is about to launch a new seat in the European heavy duty truck segment. This is a pneumatic system where air cells are providing support in the lumbar area.
The contract is valued at EUR 5 million and start of production is set to 2011 at the company’s facility in Pruszkow, Poland.
“The customer is a leading seat maker who is renowned for its comfort, ergonomics and functional features, and the award proofs that KA’s technology and solutions meet the highest industry standards”, says Raymond Bomya, Executive Vice President in KA’s Interior division. “It’s also an important step for us on the road to expand the market for existing automotive products into the truck segment. We already have another truck customer showing strong interest in this product”, says Mr. Bomya.
