KEY CONTRACT WIN FOR INTERIOR SYSTEMS IN US MARKET WORTH 32 MEUR

Kongsberg Automotive (KA) has received a contract for the seat heating system, rear center armrest, rear head restraints and seat actuation cables on a high volume small SUV with a major US carmaker. Annual production volume is projected to be over 300,000 vehicles.

“Over the past few years, the automotive industry has seen a shift in the quantities of vehicles produced from large SUVs and passenger cars to more fuel efficient small SUVs, crossovers and compact cars. KA has realized this shift and has focused on products that meet the needs and requirements of our customers and provide comfort, improved functionality and safety for the consumer”, says Raymond Bomya, Global Executive Vice President for Interior in Kongsberg Automotive.

The contract has a total value of 32 MEUR over 5 years. Start of production will be in late 2011.
