KONGSBERG AUTOMOTIVE AWARDED CONTRACTS VALUED AT €9,0M FOR A NEW UK 4WD VEHICLE Kongsberg Automotive has won MEUR 9 in new contract awards with a production start date of Q2 2011. The business awards include delivery of seat lumbar support systems, seat heaters with temperature control units, seat cables and bonnet release cables. This award is valued at 9.0 million Euros over the life of the program and adds to a growing market share in the seat comfort segment. Production will take place at KA’s facilities in Hungary (Siofok), Poland (Pruszkow) and UK (Burton). “KA has been awarded several products, both through the seat maker and through the vehicle manufacturer, and the contract is a good example of the company’s ability to sell multiple products on one platform”, says Hans Peter Havdal, President of Automotive Systems in Kongsberg Automotive. “Through buying several products from KA, the customer is able to reduce their supplier base. We offer a single customer interface with the ability to optimize vehicle packaging and reducing project cost", he concludes.
