Kongsberg Automotive awarded new contract valued at MEUR 24 on Seat Support in North America Kongsberg Automotive has received a new order valued at MEUR 24 (205 MNOK) The new business includes delivery of seat support systems (pneumatic lumbar systems) to the North American market, where a major North American seat manufacturer is preparing the launch of a new seat within the passenger vehicle segment. Start of production is scheduled for April 2012, and production will take place at the company’s facility in Reynosa, Mexico. The OEM customer is one of North America’s leading car manufactures and this contract represents the confidence that manufacturer has in the Kongsberg product designs. It also confirms the increased emphasis on comfort in new vehicles. “This award illustrates that pneumatic seat support systems, long popular in Europe, are gaining popularity in the North American market.
