Kongsberg Automotive (KA) is proud to be the supplier of the “crystal shifter system” to Volvo cars for their latest concept car recently on display at the Geneva International Motor Show.

The shifter utilizes Kongsberg’s innovative technology and expertise in Shift by wire systems and features a crystal knob supplied by Orrefors, a name famous for high end Scandinavian glass and crystal design.

This design demonstrates Volvo’s strategic intent going forward and Kongsberg is delighted to be a partner for this stunning concept car.

The shifter is equipped with state of the art technology and sets a new standard in terms of safety, weight, compact packaging and styling.

“It’s a great pleasure to support our strategic customers with more than a part for the production line, this is the future and we will be part of it”, said Joachim Magnusson, Executive Vice President for Kongsberg Automotive’s driveline business.
