Kongsberg Automotive Holding ASA - New contracts valued at MEUR 26 with brazilian truck manufactures

Kongsberg, June 30 2009 Significant business wins in Brazil for Kongsberg Automotive Kongsberg Automotive continues its strong growth in Brazil with five new contracts with Brazilian truck and bus manufacturers during the second quarter 2009. The total estimated value of the contracts is 26 million EURO (243 MNOK). This is the largest ever business win during one quarter for Kongsberg Automotive in the Brazilian market. Serial production starts already during 2009 for four of the contracts. Among the business wins is a major gearshift contract with a leading South American truck manufacturer. This is the third major gearshift contract won in the Brazilian truck market over the last 12 months. With this contract Kongsberg Automotive truly consolidates its position as the leading supplier of gearshift systems to the Brazilian truck and bus industry. Other business wins includes clutch servo contracts with two new customers for Kongsberg Automotive in Brazil. It is expected that these contracts will open up new opportunities with these customers. With the new contracts during the second quarter 2009, the value of business wins in Brazil the last 12 months totals more than 50 million EURO. The parts will be manufactured in Kongsberg Automotive plant located in Jundiaí in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The Jundiaí plant was established in 1999 and supplies parts to customers in South America like VW, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Volvo, Iveco, and PSA.
