Kongsberg Automotive is pleased to announce the award of a Chrysler C-segment Automatic and Manual Transmission Shifter Program that will start in January 2012.

The new program will generate approximately EUR 38M through its duration to 2016.  This new business award has allowed Kongsberg to obtain a large shifter market share with Chrysler.  This specific shifter design will be used as a “common core design” for other platforms. KA is then well positioned to capture these additional future programs such as cross-overs and medium sized sedans.

According to Fred Smith, North American Driveline Sales Director, “The award confirms  that Kongsberg is on the map in North America as a leading driveline systems supplier  “The Kongsberg team did an outstanding job convincing the customer that KA is best in class in terms of product reliability and shift comfort.”

I am delighted for the major business win which is a break through order. We are well positioned for growth and increasing the market share in North America, says Joachim Magnusson Executive VP Driveline systems
