KONGSBERG AUTOMOTIVE TO DELIVER SHIFTER PROGRAM VALUED AT 65 MEUR

Kongsberg Automotive (KA) has been awarded another major program within the Driveline segment. The program, which will be launched in the first half of 2012, includes both the Automatic and Manual shift systems for several car programs. The shifter systems include several innovative details especially in the area of visual styling components. The customer is a major European Car Manufacturer. ”The close cooperation with the customer has been the basis for the success in this project“says Hans Peter Havdal, President of Automotive Systems at KA. “The need to meet customer expectations has challenged our organization to come up with a number of innovative solutions, which I believe was decisive for winning this contract". Mr. Havdal states further that “The strategic importance of this contract is significant as Kongsberg will be the preferred supplier with this customer in this segment. Our broad product portfolio makes it possible for our customer to reduce their supplier base, which is a key strategic target for them. Kongsberg is well positioned to be the preferred partner and continue to grow its market share”. The contract, which will start in 2012, will run over 6 years and is valued at 65 MEUR.
