Strategic important contract with new customer
A carproducer headquatered in Japan has placed its first order in a new segment with KA. The product is Seat Support and the contract value is estimated to 5 MEUR.
The customer has been on the target list for a long period and this order represents a market break trough. This is also the first order based on KA's new technology for Seat Support systems.
According to Ray Bomya, head of KA’s Interior business area, “the new technology is developed to reduce packaging space and increase modularity. As interior space requirements get more restrictive in cars, new seat designs will require features with high functionality, low weight and reduced packaging sizes. All those requirements are being met by KA's new generation of Seat Support systems. The order is strengthening our market leading position for Seat Support as the customer becomes the third major Japanese OEM to work with Kongsberg Automotive in this segment”.
The new program will be launched in the second half of 2011and run over 4 years.
