KONGSBERG selected to supply safety, automation and lifecycle simulation technology for Johan Sverdrup field development

Kongsberg Maritime AS (KONGSBERG) has been awarded a Project Specific Agreement including FEED for delivery of Safety and Automation (SAS) systems to the four Johan Sverdrup field platforms by Statoil Petroleum AS.

The Project Specific Agreement includes an option for delivery of Safety and Automation Equipment including detail engineering services and commissioning services. The agreement is subject to Statoil final investment decision.

The deliveries will be based on Kongsberg Maritime’s proven core SAS technology for Process Control, Power Distribution Control, Process Shutdown, Emergency Shutdown and Fire & Gas systems. The latest generations of Kongsberg Maritime SAS technology for production, integration, presentation, simulation, training and operation are also included.

“KONGSBERG has installed similar systems on 10 Statoil production platforms today and we are pleased to be selected as the supplier for this important project,” comments Geir Håøy, President, Kongsberg Maritime. “This is a major contract for KONGSBERG and further strengthens our position as a major supplier of our core automation and safety products to the offshore production market.”
