Economic Tendency Survey, January 2011
The Economic Tendency Indicator rose 2,3 points between December 2010 and January 2011 and is again on a par with the record highs in autumn 2010.
Business: Business sector forecasts continued strong growth for first quarter this year
The confidence indicator for the business sector rose seven points between the third and fourth quarters of 2010 and is at its highest ever level. All sectors of the economy made a positive contribution to this rise.
Consumer: Households expect lower unemployment
Households remain optimistic about the economy in January. The Consumer Confidence Indicator (CCI), which measures confidence in personal finances and the Swedish economy, rose nearly 3 points to 23.7. The CCI had previously fallen for three consecutive months after rising for a long period and is considerably above the average. The Macro Index and the Micro Index also rose again in January by 3.4 points and 2.5 points respectively.
