The Economic Tendency Indicator fell only 0.5 points in November, after having fallen an average of around three points per month over the past five months. It is considerably below the historic average, indicating weaker than normal growth in the Swedish economy at present. This month the manufacturing industry was the only sector of the economy to make a negative contribution to the Economic Tendency Indicator. The other sectors made a positive contribution, while the Consumer Confidence Indicator remained largely unchanged.

Business confidence indicator unchanged in November after falling seven consecutive months

The confidence indicator for the total business sector remained unchanged between October and November and is only a few points below the historic average. As previously, there are significant differences between the various sectors of the economy. The situation is weakest in the retail trade, while the indicator for the construction industry is considerably above the average.

Households reduce interest rate expectations for fourth consecutive month

Consumer confidence in the economic situation remains largely unchanged on last month. The Consumer Confidence Indicator (CCI) rose from -7.5 to -7.4. Consumer confidence in personal finances one year ahead has strengthened somewhat, as have household saving intentions, both current and one year ahead.
