Kreatel receives large order in Poland of solution for pre-paid subscriptions in the fixed telephone network Linköping, Sweden, October 29, 2001 - The largest telebroker in Poland, Nasza Telekomunikacja, has placed an order on the call router Dialix, which is a breakthrough for Kreatel on the Polish market. The order is worth approximately SEK 10 million (USD 1 million). The system that will be integrated with the current telebroker system contains a new software solution that will provide end users with straightforward pre-paid subscriptions in the fixed telephone network. Pre-paid subscriptions, associated with GSM telephony, are also available in the fixed telephone network. This can be achieved with an automatic callback method where the customer dials the destination number, but the telephone with Dialix connected calls a server. This server then calls the customer back, fetches the dialed destination number and connects the call in the cheapest possible way. By taking advantage of geographic placement of the server and specific tariffs, this will be cheaper than to dial the destination number directly. The Kreatel solution makes the calling process automatic and effective, and allows the customer to call as usual without thinking of server communication. The customer buys the small Dialix unit together with a pre-paid card, which contains all codes and phone numbers necessary to get started. When coming home, the customer connects Dialix to the phone. The subscription is activated when the number indicated on the pre-paid card is dialed and a software program is downloaded to Dialix, which automates all intermediary steps formerly made manually by the customer. Dialix is previously used to choose operator on the residential market, but as its entire functionality is defined by updateable software, it can be developed to support also other services in the PSTN. Pre-paid subscriptions are an example of a service suitable to introduce on financially instable markets, but also where the customer requires a firmer control of the personal call charges. - This order is a revival of the Kreatel telecom products. The European market for call routing has declined as pre-selection is introduced, but with this we see a new segment for our products.
