During Nobel week, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences usually hosts a press conference with the Nobel Laureates in Physics and Chemistry and the Laureates in Economic Sciences. Due to the pandemic the Laureates are not able to travel to Stockholm this year. Instead, we are planning for a digital press conference where the Laureates will participate via video link from their respective home countries.

One Laureate from each field will participate: Andrea Ghez, Physics, Emmanuelle Charpentier, Chemistry and Paul Milgrom, Economic Sciences. The press conference will be moderated by Göran K. Hansson, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

The press conference will be broadcast live on Youtube and on the Academy’s website. Anyone can follow the broadcast live at www.kva.se, without pre-registration. It will also be possible to embed the broadcast on different platforms. You will find all necessary information on www.kva.se well in advance. The press conference will last about 30 minutes.

It will be possible for a limited number of journalists to take part digitally on Zoom. If you are interested in participating in the press conference and having the opportunity to put questions to the Laureates, please send an email to: pressnobel@kva.se no later than 30 november. We need to know which media outlet you represent, your contact details, and which Laureate/Laureates in particular you would like to put questions to. The Press Secretary, Eva Nevelius, will thereafter get in touch directly with the journalists that will be given the opportunity to ask questions during the live press conference.

If time allows, it might also be possible to make individual interviews on Zoom afterwards. Please let us know if you are interested in such an arrangement.
