Oscar & Wendy Bond Named Finalists for North American Hairstyling Awards 2010 Fifth NAHA Nomination

Bloomfield, NJ (June 22, 2010)—The Bond Academy-L’ANZA Institute announces that Oscar and Wendy Bond, academy beauty educators, co-founders of Manhattan’s acclaimed Oscar Bond Salon, and internationally renowned husband-and-wife style and color team, have been nominated as finalists in the Master Hairstylist category for the North American Hairstyling Awards 2010.  This is the fifth NAHA nomination for Oscar and Wendy Bond.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the Professional Beauty Association and we are thrilled to join our colleagues in celebrating everyone’s contributions to the industry,” say Oscar and Wendy Bond.

The submission that has earned the Bonds the nomination in the Master category—the award event’s highest honor—is “Classic Decades of Hairdressing: Shadow and Light.”  Their portfolio captures the essence of the stylistic decades 1960-2000 with iconic looks as interpreted and styled by the Bonds.  Their collaboration takes you on a progressive journey through the 60’s classic “Sassoon” bob, a “That Girl” 70’s image, an 80’s “Flock of Seagulls” vision, a textured ‘90’s bob, and a statement of “Shape at its Best” for 2000.

NAHA 2010 is a part of the Professional Beauty Association’s Beauty Week.  The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
