The all new Wuala Business enables companies to set up centralized cloud storage accessible to employees and partners.

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND – Wuala, the Secure Cloud Storage company, announced today a new service – Wuala Business. It offers a simple and secure way for businesses to synchronize data and collaborate in the cloud without concern for security or needing to modify existing IT infrastructure.

Wuala Business enables companies to set up centralized cloud storage that is accessible to employees, partners, and clients. They can provision shared workspaces and groups within minutes, as well as define access rights for each group. With Wuala Business, the storage mounts directly on the user’s desktop with no need for VPN or costly server setup. It is as simple as accessing a local file, but robust enough to enable worldwide availability of files with a few clicks and no risks.

“Wuala Business is easy,” says Minh Le, Marketing Director at LaCie. “You don’t have to change the way you work or the way you think. It’s complementary to your local storage, but provides a secure way to share files with anyone no matter where they are located. The best part is, businesses don’t have to implement new hardware, train their staff, or spend time and money to maintain it.”

Businesses share files across many different platforms, which is why Wuala Business is cross-platform compatible between Mac, PC, and Linux. Further, through Wuala’s mobile application for iOS and Android, employees, partners, and clients have secure access to their files from anywhere in the world.

Wuala Business enables users to automatically sync folders and files between computers. With sync, employees always have the latest information stored on their computer. When a file is changed or added, group members are notified and the file is automatically updated on each synced computer. It’s even possible to restore up to 10 versions of a file, so you’ll always have a clear history of changes.

According to the 2012 Information Security Breaches Survey (ISBS) from PwC, 73% of businesses are using cloud services, but only 38% encrypt their data in the cloud.* Unencrypted data stored on third-party servers is vulnerable to hacking and can be accessed by the storage service provider.

On the other hand, Wuala uses client-side encryption. This means files are encrypted on a local device before they are uploaded to Wuala servers. Even Wuala, the provider, cannot access files because the password never leaves the business’s computer – ensuring company data can never be obtained by a third party.

Simon Hart, owner and technical director at L3N explains, “On a daily basis, my staff requires quick and easy access to confidential customer data. Thanks to Wuala Business, I have moved all my customer data from a managed server to the cloud with no reservations. Wuala offers the most secure data protection method, and provides convenient access for my staff to view clients’ files on-the-go.”**

Wuala Business includes a starter pack with 5 users and 100GB for $429 and expansion packs of 5 additional users or an additional 100GB for $279 and $109, respectively. For more information visit www.wuala.com/business.
