Dr. Tomas Salmonson appointed to represent Europe at the ICH Steering Committee

On Friday October 5th, Dr. Tomas Salmonson from the Swedish Medical Products Agency was appointed by the European Commission to represent the EU at the ICH Steering Committee.

- It is a great success, both for Dr. Salmonson and the MPA, says Director General Gunnar Alvan. It also gives the agency more openings to act on the international arena.

Dr. Tomas Salmonson is a M.Sci. and Ph.D. pharmacist and has been with the Medical Products Agency since 1986 as a pharmacokineticist and senior expert. He is also vice chairman of the scientific committee CHMP at the EMEA.

ICH, International Conference on Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use, is a joint initiative involving both regulators and research-based industry focusing on the technical requirements for medicinal products containing new drugs. When started in 1990, the original members of ICH were EU, US and Japan.
