Monica Allende joins Landskrona Foto Festival as artistic director
Former artistic director of Getxophoto International Image Festival and creator of The Sunday Times Magazine's section Spectrum, Monica Allende joins Landskrona Foto as new artistic director of Landskrona Foto Festival 2020.
We are very excited to announce Monica Allende as new artistic director for Landskrona Foto Festival 2020. Monica is an independent curator, creative producer, consultant and educator. She is currently the artistic director of Getxophoto International Image Festival in Bilboa, Spain, where she also grew up.
She is collaborating with WeTransfer as a creative director, she has collaborated with screenprojects.org and is also producing several multidisciplinary projects with artists and digital platforms worldwide.
Previously she was the director of FORMAT17 International Photography Festival and the photo editor at The Sunday Times Magazine, where she launched the award-winning photography section Spectrum.
She nominates photographers for the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize, the Prix Pictet and The Joop Swart Masterclass/ WPP; FOAM Paul Huf award, and she has served on juries worldwide including the World Press Photo, Bar Tur Photobook award, La Fabrica/Photo London dummy award,phmuseum award, Visura Grant, National Portrait Gallery’s Taylor Wessing photographic Portrait Prize, among many others.

As curator I hope to help incite social debate and engagement with an embracing and relatable programme. I want to expand the photography discourse by including multidisciplinary visual narratives and using digital platforms."
