“The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority’s rejection of our application to demutualise the company was disappointing and a failure, despite our proposal being approved on all points except for one. The restructuring of the company to a profit-distributing life-assurance company (demutualisation) is the single most important issue that Länsförsäkringar has worked on in recent years. As previously announced, we will closely analyse the Financial Supervisory Authority’s ruling, and once we have completed our analysis we will decide on what future action to take in the matter of demutualisation. Håkan Danielsson and I have agreed that the optimal situation for taking new measures in this work is for Håkan Danielsson to step down from his position,” commented Hans Jonsson, Chairman of the Board. The process of recruiting a new President has begun and is expected to take a few months. In the interim, Sten Dunér has been appointed Acting President. Sten Dunér is the CFO of Länsförsäkringar AB. Håkan Danielsson is currently the Chairman of Länsförsäkringar Liv, Länsförsäkringar Bank and Länsförsäkringar Sak. Danielsson will also leave these positions and be replaced by Sten Dunér.
