Håkan Danielsson to become new President of Länsförsäkringar AB
The Board of Directors of Länsförsäkringar AB has appointed the current head of Länsförsäkringar Life, Håkan Danielsson, as President of Länsförsäkringar AB. He will assume his position in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting on May 23, 2008, succeeding Tommy Persson, who has served as President of Länsförsäkringar AB since 1996.
Since Tommy Persson announced in the autumn his intention of leaving the position as President of Länsförsäkringar AB in conjunction with the 2008 Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors has been working with recruiting a successor.
“I am pleased to be able to present Håkan Danielsson as new President. We have sought a successor externally and among internal candidates. What we focused on is finding a person who can continue to successfully develop Länsförsäkringar from the strong position it holds today and who can provide active support to the regional insurance companies in the continuing growth plans. Håkan fits these requirements perfectly,” says Hans Jonsson, Board Chairman of Länsförsäkringar AB.
Håkan Danielsson is currently head of Länsförsäkringar Life. He has many years experience of the insurance industry. He has been head of Länsförsäkringar Life since 2005 and achieved significant successes in the development of Länsförsäkringar’s life assurance business, particularly in the ability to sustainably have the industry’s most satisfied customers and the strong performance with regard to new sales, in which Länsförsäkringar Life today is growing the fastest.
“During his time as head of the life assurance company, Håkan Danielsson has shown that he is the right person to lead Länsförsäkringar AB. He will continue to work with supporting the regional insurance companies in their continued development with his unique insurance know-how and his ability to make customers and sales the focal point,” says Hans Jonsson.
Danielsson has lengthy experience of both life assurance and non-life insurance. Between 1999 and 2003 he was President of Trygg Hansa and during 1991 to 1997 he worked within Länsförsäkringar AB, including serving as head of the Non-life Division, Vice President of Länsförsäkringar AB and President of the Stockholm Re reinsurance company.

Efforts to find a new head of Länsförsäkringar Life have been initiated.
Håkan Danielsson, born in 1961, is married, with three children. He lives in Sigtuna and his leisure interests include hunting and sports activities.
