“Following a recruitment process involving internal and external candidates, Sten Dunér emerged as the obvious choice for the position. The process of identifying a new President revealed that the job is one of the most attractive and coveted in the industry,” said Hans Jonsson, Board Chairman of Länsförsäkringar AB. “Länsförsäkringar’s growth strategy is based on a leading market position in non-life insurance for the continued expansion in the areas of life assurance and banking services. The position requires an individual with broad and extensive knowledge of the insurance and finance industry. The person should also have a large national and international network, inspire widespread confidence and maintain a high level of integrity. Furthermore, we looked for a President whose style of leadership was based on listening to others and a straightforward approach. Sten Dunér meets all of these rigorous demands and is also a very amiable person.” “I believe that this is the best job in the insurance and bank market in Sweden so, naturally, I am very pleased and honoured,” said Sten Dunér. “Länsförsäkringar’s success is primarily due to two key factors: the unique foundation that the regional insurance companies have in their home markets, and our core values.
