ENGINEERING A BETTER CONNECTION

At today’s (15 July) inaugural Agricultural Engineers Association’s College Day over 130 colleges, manufacturers and dealers reconnected to develop the workforce of the future.

With the relationship between the land-based engineering industry and the colleges deteriorating in recent years, this event held at Cranfield University provided a platform for both sides to understand the demands and requirements of the industry while establishing the capabilities and needs of the colleges. Supporting the event on behalf of Lantra Sector Skills Council, Industry Partnership Manager, John Godden, said: “This is the first step in trying to bolster links between colleges, manufacturers and dealers. We will now work together to establish a framework for improving this relationship, so we can make sure that the colleges understand what the industry needs while giving industry a realistic expectation of what the colleges can offer.” For more information about Lantra and the land-based engineering industry visit www.lantra.co.uk/land-basedengineering or call 0845 707 8007.
