Forward thinking at Lantra’s Land Management Seminar
In conjunction with the University of Ulster, Lantra Sector Skills Council is hosting a Land Management Seminar on Wednesday 20 October 2010 at 7.00 pm in the Cybercafe at Greenmount Campus, Antrim. This event will be open to all those working in the land-based and environmental sector.
A number of academics from the School of Environmental Science, University of Ulster will be in attendance at this seminar to share their vast knowledge and expertise in freshwater science and terrestrial ecology. They would also welcome the opportunity to exchange knowledge with members of industry on topics such as water quality and land-use. Karen McCann from the Office of Innovation, University of Ulster said: “This seminar will provide an insight into some of the innovative work being undertaken by the Environmental Sciences Research Institute at the University, and will facilitate an exchange of knowledge between those in attendance; this may spark ideas that could lead to new networks emerging between industry and the university.” David Seffen, Lantra’s Partnership Manager said: “Farmers are increasingly involved with environmental stewardship; I would really encourage farmers to come along and engage in this work, particularly on topics such as ‘water quality’ and ‘land use’ as these are important factors facing the farming industry.” Booking a place at the seminar is essential so to reserve your place, call 028 7963 1304 or email paula.smyth@lantra.co.uk.
