The prestigious RHS Hampton Court flower show, which has been taking place for almost two decades, has recognised the blooming talents of Lantra Trustee Jim Marshall.

Winning gold in the RHS Floral Marquee for his heritage Malmaison and Perpetual carnations, the Suffolk-based horticultural consultant said: “I have shown my National Collection of Malmaison carnations in the Plant Heritage Marquee at Hampton for many years, but this is their first showing in the main Floral Marquee and I am thrilled that the display was awarded a gold medal.” Jim, who was a National Trust Gardens Advisor for 25 years, has made a significant contribution at Lantra Board level since 1998. He has also been chair of Lantra’s horticulture, landscaping and sports turf industry group. Lantra’s Industry Partnership Manager, David Winn, said: “Jim is passionate about the Malmaison carnation and his business, Marshalls’ Malmaisons, is dedicated to nurturing such plants. It’s terrific news that he has been recognised by the RHS with this prestigious award.” ENDS Issued by: Lantra Press Office – contact media@lantra.co.uk or call 02476 858 407.
