Lappland Guldprospektering discovers a high-grade mineralized zone of 9 meters with an average of 8.5 Grams Au/ton in its initial drilling Program
Lappland Guldprospektering’s summer drilling provided valuable information through several observations of solid gold. Drill hole 4 indicated a gold-rich zone of 9 meters between 39 and 48 meters with an average grade of 8.5 g/t, including 0.5 meters at 140 g/t. This zone is part of a longer gold-mineralized position with relatively low gold content. This drill hole (no. 4) also revealed a near-surface position between 9.1 meters and 11.3 meters with a gold content of 4.5 g per ton.
The drillings indicate a gold-rich zone that may be an extension of previous drilling hits. In the remaining five drill holes, smaller gold-mineralized zones were encountered, providing important information about the area's geology.
The information the company has now obtained will be analyzed to update the planned larger drilling program. The laboratory workload is currently high, resulting in longer-than-normal processing times of up to 45 days from the submission of samples to receiving analysis results.
"The results from the initial drilling program are encouraging as we see that there are high-grade gold mineralizations within our concession. This data, together with results from previous historical drillings, gives us good hopes that we have a valuable gold resource at Stortjärnhobben," commented the company’s CEO, Karl-Åke Johansson.
Drilling and analyses will also shortly be published separately in tabular format.
Drilling at Stortjärnhobben will continue once the results from the first drill holes have been interpreted and an agreement with the Vapsten sámi village has been reached regarding winter drilling within the reindeer grazing area.
